Is GovTasks part of the government?
No. GovTasks is an independent software platform. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the United States government or any agency, and we never submit bids on your behalf.
Where do the opportunities come from?
From public postings by federal, state, county, city, education, utility, and public-authority buyers. Each record links back to the original agency posting.
Do I need to be registered in a government system to start?
No. You can build a profile and see matches immediately. Registrations matter when you are ready to submit, and the readiness assessment shows which ones apply to you.
How is the fit score calculated?
Deterministically, from your profile against the opportunity: capability overlap, codes, geography, contract size, certifications, readiness, and time remaining. Every match shows the factors behind the number.
How does GovTasks use AI?
AI summarizes long solicitations, extracts requirements, and drafts task suggestions. Those surfaces are labeled. Scoring, deadlines, and access permissions are never decided by a model.
What does the free plan include?
Discover is free: a business profile, readiness scoring, and matched opportunities with limited detail. Paid plans unlock full opportunity records, reasoning, pursuits, and team access.
Can my team work in GovTasks together?
Yes, on the Team plan. Tasks can be assigned, and everything stays inside your organization's workspace.
How fresh is the data?
Federal sources sync at least daily; most state, local, and education sources sync hourly or daily depending on the portal. Always confirm the deadline on the official posting before you bid.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel from your subscription settings and access continues through the end of the paid period.
